Holy Week resources for reflection

During the week leading up to Easter Sunday, when we celebrate that Jesus is risen from the dead and alive today, we want to provide some resources to help us reflect on the journey to the cross and the empty tomb. Each day will be different and some days will be aimed at all ages and some days just at adults. Keep checking back daily!

Updated Easter Sunday 12 April

This Easter many of us will be feeling trapped or hemmed in - by circumstances, by loneliness or isolation, even by our own feelings. But what can the Easter story tell us about hope that can sustain us through this time? Could there be a better story for us being written whilst we feel so in limbo - God's brilliant, beautiful, transformational story? A prayer for all of us this oh so unusual and unexpected Easter Sunday.

Easter will be very different for us this year! But for thousands of Christians feelings of uncertainty, fear and even loss are only too common – especially at Easter. Join with the persecuted church in praying for protection, and in claiming the hope which we all have through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On the Open Doors website, you can download a resource to help you pray for persecuted Christians throughout Holy Week, join with a family in Sri Lanka praying Psalm 23, and download a Sri Lanka colouring sheet for children.
