Christmas Gift Bags for Prisoners

On Sunday 27th November, we are having a special offering towards the ‘Christmas Gift Bags for Prisoners’ appeal. We work in partnership with the Bristol based charity - SixtyOne who provide and deliver the bags to prisoners.

Christmas is a very difficult time for people in prison: away from their families, staying in their cells for long hours, and the normal regime put on hold for the holidays. The unexpected gift of a bag of goodies from people they do not know, can really lift their spirits. These small acts of kindness remind them that they are not forgotten, that there are people who care about them and that there is a welcome for them when they are released.

Our youth group will once again be making up the Christmas gift bags on this Sunday too, so it’s exciting to be able support this project financially, practically and in prayer.
