Small Groups
and Pastoral Care

We often talk about church being like a family. We are all very different, which is great, but not necessarily ‘easy’! We know that we follow Jesus better together, that we need a community around us to encourage, challenge and grow our faith, and we also know we’re all far from perfect.  In amongst all this we keep pursuing this value of ‘being family’, to be a community where we look out and care for each other, together.

Small Groups

We think Small Groups are awesome! They are a great place to ‘do life’ with a smaller number of people. They are a place of love, support, and care. We see our small groups as a first line of support when it comes to pastoral care - one of the many great reasons to be a part of a group!

 Mentoring

Mentoring is another great avenue for regular support and connection. These one-to-one partnerships intentionally provide a distinct level of accountability and challenge. This also happens for some in groups of 3/4 people.

Prayer

We love to pray together, and this can happen in many different ways, in lots of different places. We pray when we gather on a Sunday, in small groups, and at specific times throughout the month. Prayer is a vital expression of our care and support for each other.

Friends in Deed

Sometimes there are significant life changes or sudden life-disrupting situations where an extra level of practical help and support is helpful. There are lots of people with lots of different skills and help to offer in these times.

Church Leadership Team

Sometimes it may be appropriate for the Church Leadership Team to provide direct pastoral care. Some matters might benefit from specific experience and leadership support. Alternatively, we may refer people to external support with organisations like Network Counselling.

Most importantly, when you need help, please ask.
