The Awake pastorate met at Ebe on Saturday morning. We swapped stories about God’s goodness to us that week, then had a brief time of listening prayer to prepare for going out and meeting people.
We parcelled up stacks of cookies (thanks to all who donated!) with cellophane, ribbons, Christmas flyers and cards (and an ingredients list for the Christmas Elf & Safety), then after a celebratory photo shoot of our gift wrapped cookies, we went out onto Filton Avenue to deliver them.
We split into mixed age-groups carrying bundles of cookies and visited the staff in 16 of the shops/businesses nearest Ebe who were all very pleasantly surprised and grateful. I think all the encounters were brief but positive.
It really would be fandabidozee if some of these folks came along to the Christmas services as a result, but regardless of the visible outcome, it brightened up a very rainy day on Filton Avenue and helps put Jesus into people’s thoughts or conversations.
