In February, a group from Ebe Church are going to take part in ‘Sleep Out 2016’ in Bristol to raise money for Crisis Centre Ministries. A small group of us did this several years ago and we are looking to gather 10-20 people from Ebe to get involved. Join us, and others, to highlight the reality of homelessness in the city.
Each year, Crisis Centre Ministries helps hundreds of people off the streets and feeds thousands more. We are inviting you to join the Sleep Out to raise vital funds to support the work that they do, as well as raise awareness of the issues that their clients face, such as homelessness and social exclusion.
The night is not a complete homeless experience but a small insight into what it might be like without a safe place to call home, having to rely on the support of others. It will be cold, it will be memorable, and it will make a difference. You will need to bring a warm sleeping bag and lots of layers. It is suggested to bring a ground sheet or some cardboard to sleep on and some waterproof sheeting as we never know what weather the night will bring!
The Sleep Out is open to anyone 14 years old and over but if you are under 18, you will need to be accompanied by an adult with your parent or guardians consent.
Full details about registering and fundraising with Ebe Church group will be available in January, or speak to Esther Legg-Bagg.
